These pages are to point out some of the major Dangers on the road today , and why they are dangers .
There is really only on danger on the road , Bad Drivers . People who do not know or realize that their actions are endangering other people . If all bad drivers could be removed from the road , there would be no dangers on the road .

Those people who chose to drive after consuming alcohol are a danger on the road , as the alcohol does affect the mental capability and the physical reaction of any person who consumes it . The more one consumes the more the effect . Those who do not drink often are normally affected more than those who have adjusted physically to drinking . All people must comply with the same legal limits as there is no way that it could be determined what a safe limit would be for each individual person . That limit is set at the lowest amount consumed to reach a moderately impaired level as that is the only way that alcohol consumption can be controlled on the road . The penalties are suspension of drivers licence , fines and prison . In some countries the first offence is also the last as the penalty is Death .
It is not the booze that is the fault or the danger , it is the bad driver that drinks and drives .
The best way to know if you are safe to drive is not to take the first drink if you must drive ! You will also feel safer when you don’t have the fear of getting caught .

Cell Phones are possibly a larger danger on the road than Alcohol ! It is much more common for people to use cell phones on the road at all times of day and night . The majority of people who use cell phones while driving , are very poor drivers to start with . If they were any good at driving , they would know better than to be using the phone while driving in the first place . Have you ever noticed how often you see people driving through intersections or through school zones and other danger areas , with a cell phone in one hand . These people do not recognize danger zones and show no respect for other people . Hand held phones are the worst but all dangers , as the main danger is the lack of attention to the road . To many drivers today , do not seem to be aware of the responsibilites and attention required to be a safe driver . Driving and paying attention , is a full time job when you are behind the wheel . Seeing the things you should , people , other vehicles road signs , obstructions and road signs are all mandatory parts of driving . Recognizing dangers and danger areas in time to prevent accidents from happening , are all part of safe driving . If you are doing all the thing you should be doing , you don’t have time to be on a phone while you are driving . If you think that you do have time to use a cell phone any time while you are behind the wheel of an automobile , than you might be advised to learn to drive properly . Your life depends on that as well as the lives and welfare of others .
The cell phone is not the problem , it is the bad driver that uses the phone while driving .

Loud radio’s and stereo’s are a cause of many accidents on the road , as well as being annoying to other drivers . One big advantage for safe driving , is to be able to hear what is going on around you when you are driving . Often people are able to avoid accidents because they hear something before they actually see it , another auto, person , animal , train or many other sounds that a driver might hear . If your radio or stereo is too loud , you are at a disadvantage , as you are unable to hear these sounds . There are laws in every district that limit the maximum volume of sound even in an automobile , so you can also be fined for excessive noise level ,if your stereo is too loud while driving .
Unsafe vehicles can be deadly on the road . Defective part such as steering parts or brake parts cause many accidents . This can also , very often be counted as a bad driver . A driver that does not maintain the vehicle properly will often have vehicle failures that result in accidents . Properly maintained vehicles are much safer on the road .
Restricted visibility is a serious danger while driving . Anything that interferes with the clear view of the road in front , to the rear or to the sides of the vehicle is dangerous and of course not legal . Articles hanging from mirrors , large items laying on the dash , and articles piled in front of the rear window will restrict the clear view of the driver . Accidents often occur because the driver was unable to see dangers . For example , children have been run over , because they could not be seen , in some cases because the view was blocked by the above mentioned items . Good drivers maintain a clear view in all directions at all times . A clear view makes driving safer , and also more comfortable and relaxing .
Smoking while driving can be a serious problem . If you must smoke , do it at the proper time . Going through intersections , school zones or any heavy traffic area , are dangerous places to be smoking .
Eating food or drinking can be deadly while behind the wheel of a vehicle . The attention required to handle food is a dangerous distraction while driving as well as the use of the hands that should be controlling that vehicle . And how many people have lost their lives because someone spilled hot drinks on them selves while driving .
Reading while driving , is dangerous . If you must look at a map or read directions , pull of the road in a safe place to do it .
Stopping in unsafe areas is a danger . When you pull over to the side of a road for any reason , do not pull over , where the road is too narrow , or on or near curves corners or intersections . Make any stops in a place were you are sure that other traffic can get past you safely and in an area were you can be seen at a distance that will avoid collisions .
