Brake Hydraulic System Flush - Service

In the past it was part of a normal brake reline , to overhaul , brake calipers and wheel cylinders . At that time the brake fluid was replaced . With the arrival of specialty shops the competition led to cost cutting measures . Replacement of brake pads or shoes , with out hydraulic system maintenance became a common practice . It has become common to replace brake calipers and wheel cylinders after they give problems , rather than doing the maintenance that could prevent these problems . If the hydraulic brake system is kept clean and free from condensation , rust , dirty and contamination , the system will function much more efficiently . This means that the brakes will work better and you will continue to stop safely . Seized and sticking brake calipers or wheel cylinders cause brakes to pull the vehicle to one side or the other when stopping and can cause the loss of control of the vehicle . Replacement of the hydraulic brake fluid from time to time will help to prevent seized or sticking brake calipers and wheel cylinders .

_____________

Sticking calipers of cylinders will also cause premature wear of brake pads , shoes , rotors and drums and cost you money .

On a hydraulic brake system flush service , all the brake bleeders are opened and the old brake fluid and all contaminating materials are drained out and replaced with new clean brake fluid . The system is then bled to remove all air . This procedure should only take one hour or less to perform . If this service is done with every brake pad replacement many seized brake calipers and cylinders could be eliminated !
